Rhode Island spent over $32 million in FY 2003 to incarcerate Providence residents. This figure ($32,387,102) does not include central administrative or capital costs. The total for the top five neighborhoods (West End, Elmwood, Lower South Providence, Silver Lake, and Upper South Providence) was just over $14 million. To view other slides regarding sentenced offenders and males on probation or parole, see additional work done in partnership with the Family Life Center.
